Dave EllisDavid Ellis C.A.T.(C), DO(MP), Manual Practice Osteopathy [Clinic Owner]

David received his Athletic Therapy training at Sheridan College and became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 1998.  He has worked at the National, International, and Professional levels of sport. David has worked with the Ottawa Roughriders of the CFL and University of Western Ontario football teams, as well as Canadian and International Skating. Throughout his career he has also worked with national soccer, collegiate hockey, and many other sports from the competitive to recreational level. David now works primarily with the running population of Oakville, helping individuals reach their goals ranging from their first 5 km to Ironman Hawaii.

David received his Osteopathic Training at the Canadian College of Osteopathy and is currently an active member of the Ontario Association of Osteopaths.  He successfully defended his thesis on “The Effects of Osteopathic Treatment on Oxygen Saturation Levels in a Smoking Population as Measured With a Pulse Oximeter” in October 2005.  David has been successfully treating patients for over 8 years and has built up a solid client base in the Oakville area.

This has all lead to the opening of Balance Point Health Centre in August of 2008!  David and his wife Linda have been working towards opening this centre over the last two years and look forward to continuing to give you outstanding care.

Sam Dobbie, BSc(Hons), DO(MP), Manual Practice Osteopathy 

Sam Dobbie is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopaths. After obtaining his BSc(Hons) degree from the renowned European School of Osteopathy in England, Sam worked in a busy and successful clinic in the UK before moving to Ontario in June 2011.  Since then he has fine tuned his skills at a busy clinic in Port Perry.  Sam also has previous therapeutic experience in massage and medical acupuncture.
Sam’s own experience of osteopathy started at an early age, receiving his first treatment at three years old. Because of his positive personal experience with Osteopathy and his practical experience since acheiving his designation, he is excited to share the benefits that osteopathy has to offer patients for any stage of life, from newborn to old age. As part of his degree, Sam completed a dissertation in “The Role of Osteopathy in the Treatment and Management of Multiple Sclerosis” and has since successfully helped a number of patients with a range of chronic health problems.
Sam finds osteopathy particularly rewarding as it allows patients to regain their well-being in a powerful, yet gentle and natural way. Janusz Wawro

Janusz Wawro, M.P.Ed., R.M.T., Manual Practice Osteopathy (Thesis writer)

Janusz is a Registered Massage Therapist, a Certified Kinesiologist and graduate of the five-year program in Osteopathic Manual Practice at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto, and is currently working on his thesis.  He also holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education and is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

Having worked in some of the most reputable clinics in Toronto and Montreal, Janusz has over 14 years of experience in helping people of all ages and backgrounds, including professional and Olympic athletes.  In his treatments Janusz effectively combines the knowledge of Osteopathy, Massage Therapy and Kinesiology (corrective exercise) that provides quick relief from pain, and long-lasting improvement of one’s health and well-being.  He specializes in treating chronic pain,sports and repetitive strain injuries, and posture improvement.

Stephanie Babbitt

Stephanie Babbitt, R.N., B.Sc.N., Manual Practice Osteopathy (current study)

Stephanie graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, in 1997.   Upon graduation Stephanie worked as a rehabilitation consultant for a national company responsible for coordinating care for individuals injured with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury.  When contemplating a change in career Stephanie decided she wanted to provide a more hands-on way of positively influencing the health and well-being of patients.  Further, Stephanie wanted to engage in a career that would incorporate her passion for running and fitness.

This led Stephanie to choosing a career in Osteopathy.  Now completing her fourth year of study at the Canadian College of Osteopathy, Stephanie has begun to provide treatment where she has seen the benefit and pleasure of having a direct impact on her patients’ health and wellness.

Stephanie is excited to be part of the team at Balance Point Health Centre and work with patients to achieve their goals for optimum health.

Jane GoehnerJane Goehner, BSc. Hon.  N.D., Naturopath

Jane Goehner is a licensed naturopathic doctor practicing in Oakville since 2001.  Prior to this Jane obtained a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biology from McMaster University in 1997, focusing on health science and Alzheimer’s disease research.  Jane went on to complete her Naturopathic Degree from the Toronto Naturopathic College and is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.   Her own powerful experience of healing through natural treatments inspired Jane to choose naturopathic medicine as a profession.

Dr. Goehner has a broad range of clinical experience encompassing women’s health, fertility and prenatal support, paediatrics, men’s health, digestive complaints, cardiovascular health, musculoskeletal pain/injury, headaches, weight management, and immune support.

Dr. Jennifer Kaster B.Sc., N.D. Naturopath

Throughout her entire life, Dr. Jennifer has experienced firsthand the incredible healing power of complementary medicine.  It was through these experiences that her passion for naturopathic medicine developed.

After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in 2003 at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Jennifer continued her studies in the four year program at the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.   She is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the Board of Directors Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy and a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.  Dr. Jennifer began her clinical work in 2007 in her own practice in Parry Sound, Ontario.  Recent positive life changes have been the catalyst to her move back to the Oakville area and she is excited to continue her work as an ND at Balance Point Health Centre.  In addition to her schooling, she has taken extra training courses in Women’s Health, Nutrition and BioEnergetic Sciences.  Jennifer strives to continually learn and update her skills as a naturopathic doctor.

Integrating scientific knowledge with traditional healing wisdom, Dr. Jennifer utilizes the core naturopathic treatment modalities with a specific interest in the treatment of food sensitivities and digestive concerns.

Dr. Jennifer provides a comprehensive and supportive approach to health care, while treating each patient with compassion and empathy.  She is passionate about naturopathic medicine and looks forward to assisting you in achieving your health goals.

Teresa Knight

Teresa Knight, RMT, Registered Massage Therapist

Teresa graduated from Canadian Therapeutic College with an Honours Diploma in 2003. Since, she has gained her experience within a wide range of clinical practice. Teresa took the massage therapy program as a result of an injury she had herself. She believes massage therapy can improve a person’s quality of life in many ways such as stress reduction, increasing circulation, injury recovery and decreasing muscular pain and tension.  Teresa also started teaching massage therapy courses in 2009. She loves being part of the team at Balance Point and to helping to improve her client’s quality of life.

Linda Ljucovic, CHRP, Hatha Yoga Teacher, Registered Holistic Nutritionist RHN (current study) [Clinic Director]

Linda graduated from McMaster University in 1992 with a BA in Labour Studies and went on to complete her Human Resources Certification in 1994.  Throughout her career in Human Resources, specifically learning and development and organizational development, she focused on teaching the skills for effective goal setting, coaching and leadership.

Linda obtained her Classic Hatha Yoga certification in 2001 from the Hatha/Raja Yoga Studies school in Toronto where she learned form Marie Paulyn, founder of Federation of Ontario’s Yoga Teachers (FOYT).  Linda has taught on and off on a part time basis in both corporate and private settings.

Through her own personal health challenges and those of her children, she has become passionate about the study of nutrition and its affect on the mind and body.  Linda completed her study at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2012 and is now a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN).  She is looking forward to helping others learn about how the food we eat impacts every aspect of our lives and that even simple and gradual changes can lead to improved health.
